Blanca Iris Villafañe, from San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico is the queen of bolero on Ansonia. "Con Guitarras Vol. 1," her first album with Ansonia, is considered a classic in her repertoire. Accompanied by guitarists Yomo Toro, Jorge Renán, and José Alberto Jiménez, Blanca delivers beloved bolero songs such as “Por Despecho,” “Con El Sentimiento Herido,” and “Besos Callejeros.”

Although beloved and revered in the New York City Latin music scene in the 1960s, Villafañe never received the same recognition in her home country or internationally.
