Ecuadorian group Las Tres Guitarras was founded in 1934 by Carlos Valladolid. By 1950 the lineup changed to include Armando Irizarry, and Tito Ull with Carlos Valladolid as musical director.

Although the trio gained popularity for their interpretations of “pasillos” and “waltzes,” in this self-titled album, they prove their ability to take on boleros as well.
