about

Hailing from the island of St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, the Invaders Steel Band were popular performers in Puerto Rico where they performed regularly at hotels, as well as at the various army and navy posts.

This album features a mix of Caribbean classics, such as the West Indian songs "Rum and Coca Cola," "Jack, Jack, Jack," and "Sly Mongoose," and the Dominican merengues "El Negrito Del Batey," "El Jarro Pichao," and "Piano Merengue." This album offers steel band interpretations of calypsos, merengues, and other Caribbean rhythms that will bring the island vibes to you.
